Complex trauma impacts so much that traditional methods of parenting, teaching and interacting often don’t work. However, there are specific interventions and approaches, known as trauma-informed care, that can change a child’s life. Training everyone, everywhere in these new ways is the key to creating a trauma-free world.

Our FREE one-day trauma informed care certification event, Introduction to Trauma Competent Caregiving assists helping professionals, parents, and other caregivers in gaining an understanding of why kids from “hard places” experience the behavioral and emotional challenges they do.

Melanie McCracken works for the South Texas Alliance for Orphans, is certified in Trauma Competent Caregiver by Back2Back Ministries, and is a foster/adoptive mom.
Participants can expect to leave the trauma informed care training with:
- A comprehensive understanding of the essential skills of trauma competent care.
- New practical strategies, techniques and skills to manage children with a traumatic history.
- Resources, handouts, and checklists to utilize in your area of work and/or your family that evening.
CEUs are available for Licensed Professional Counselors, foster families, adopting families, and childcare providers.
