We help you and your church serve children and families impacted by foster care, kinship care and adoption.
We know that you are serving Jesus’ church so selflessly and sacrificially and you are doing many incredible things in our community. We understand that you have a lot on your plate and so many things are competing for your time, energy and attention as you strive to shepherd your flock, make disciples, and love and serve those around you.
“The entire arc of Scripture describes how God goes to extravagant lengths to move towards hard and broken places to pursue His people.”
We say it this way “INTO THE STORM.”
As you live out the Biblical call to love your neighbors and make disciples, we are here to help you strategically serve children and families impacted by the foster system.
As a local pastor and leader of our Pastoral Engagement team, Mike, is here to serve you and your church.
We have pastors gatherings throughout the year for Bexar, Comal, Bandera & Wilson counties.
These pastor-led events inform you about the foster crisis in your local context, educate on ways local churches are stepping in to serve and provide you an opportunity to explore how your church can be part of the movement.
Pastors are welcome to also bring key leaders or foster/adoptive/kinship families in your church along with you. Come let us walk alongside you in this redeeming work.
The Alliance Strategy
BUILD THE CORE
Are you interested in or ready to build a foster/adopt ministry at your church? Create a solid infrastructure by discovering, gathering and serving core individuals and families.
EMPOWERING CHURCHES FOR THE CORE
The Alliance provides ministry development for your CORE (current foster, adoptive and kinship families in your church) and creates a Care Community model within your church while connecting you with local resources.
1. DISCOVER YOUR CORE
Find out which families in your church and/or community are actively involved in foster care and adoption via email, social media, church bulletins, announcements and community groups.
2. GATHER YOUR CORE
Start with an initial meeting and begin to identify the experiences and needs of one another. Use this meeting to begin forming a database of families involved in direct care as well as those with the desire to serve and assist.
3. SERVE YOUR CORE
Create a Care Community around each foster, adoptive and kinship family to ensure that they stay connected. Provide vital peer to peer connection through support groups.
GROW THE CROWD
With The Alliance, you can empower the members of your church who are willing and able to lend their time, talents, resources and support to your new foster ministry. Prayer, babysitting, meal and supplies donations are just a few of the ways your CROWD can get involved.
GET INVOLVED TODAY
The Alliance exists to support, equip and encourage churches in fulfilling the biblical orphan care mandate. We help transform under-accessed church communities into informed Care Communities.
1. ACTIVATE YOUR CROWD
The Alliance provides training and guidance in crafting a Sunday message on God’s heart and call followed by an informational meeting about the full continuum.
2. GATHER THE CROWD
We help churches plan events that educate their church body on the crisis and equip and connect them to opportunities to serve.
3. CROWD IN ACTION
Lawn care, transportation, house cleaning, car maintenance, and providing meals and groceries are just a few of the ways that your church body can be a part of the solution.
BEYOND YOUR CHURCH
The Alliance will facilitate a movement within the church community to engage on various levels and at various points along the full continuum to the benefit of children and families. We will grow a community of individuals and families that understand trauma, the foster system, the many ways to serve and the organizations serving in each part of the continuum.
A COMMUNITY THAT CARES
With the Alliance, no foster/adopt ministry journeys alone. Connect with churches and organizations for the support and resources you need to thrive.
1. DISCOVER THE COMMUNITY NEED
Identify church members with passions, talents, and professions that complement and contribute to the foster/adopt continuum and empower them to serve. Observe/notice any gaps and start to fill accordingly.
2. GATHER THE COMMUNITY
Host a pastor summit, conference or bring together non-profits serving along the foster/adopt continuum. Invite families and individuals not connected to a supportive community to join.
3. COMMUNITY-WIDE SUPPORT
Host trainings and events within your community, such as: Care Portal Response Team, TBRI & Trauma Informed Care Trainings, KinMart/GrandMart School Supply Events, Parent Night Out events, Caseworker Kits & Appreciation Dinners.
